What’s new on Netflix and what’s leaving in February 2024

Netflix is really asserting its dominance over the other streamers in February, thanks to content-sharing agreements with rival studios that are bringing in hit shows like Monk and a new season of Young Sheldon, as well as the first four seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Blacklist season 10, and the vastly underrated Max original action series Warrior, which will hopefully get a second chance to break out now that it’s coming to Netflix.

A healthy selection of new films is also making February a good month for subscribers, as Everything Everywhere All At Once comes to Netflix alongside Ready Player One, The Great Gatsby, Moneyball, Pacific Rim, The Other Boleyn Girl, and more. But the really exciting additions in February are the animated film Orion and the Dark and the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Keep reading for our complete roundup of everything new on Netflix in February 2024 and everything that’s leaving at the end of the month. Our picks for the month are in bold.

The 50 best shows on Netflix in February 2024
Aang in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

How long does it take for a big-budget Netflix original series to come to fruition? The live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series was first announced way back in 2018, and it only just premiered this week on Netflix. If Avatar isn't among the most popular shows on Netflix out of the gate, then the streamer is really going to regret that investment. Fortunately for Netflix, Resident Alien has already proven to be a big hit with two seasons currently streaming and a third season in progress on Syfy.

There aren't that many new shows coming to Netflix during the remaining days of February. But there will definitely be some in March! Keep checking back every Friday morning as we update our list of the best shows on Netflix right now because there's almost always something new to binge.

Timothee Chalamet as Paul and Josh Brolin as Gurney in Dune (2021).

With March on the horizon, Netflix subscribers have only a few days left to watch a select group of movies. Several noteworthy titles are leaving Netflix at the end of February. Unfortunately, it is unknown if these movies will ever return to Netflix, at least anytime soon.

The most noteworthy film on its way out is Dune, Denis Villeneuve's 2021 sci-fi adaptation of Frank Herbert's groundbreaking novel. Other picks include an Oscar winner from the early 2000s, a 1990s Western, and an underrated comedy from the late 2010s.
