What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in February 2024

Compared to January, February is going to be a little slow on Amazon Prime Video. But at least three more films from 2023 — Bottoms, Strays, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem — are joining last year’s blockbusters Fast X and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. That’s the best benefit of Amazon’s deals with rival studios, which brings together movies from Warner Bros., Universal, and Paramount on a single streamer.

Fans of Prime Video’s The Grand Tour should be excited to see The Grand Tour: Sand Job, a new special that will premiere in February (a date hasn’t been announced yet). And while there aren’t many new shows coming to Prime Video this month, the latest update features several fan-favorite movies from the past four decades.

Below, you’ll find the complete list of what’s coming to Amazon Prime Video in February, with our recommendations in bold. And if you need a little more help in deciding what to watch, we also have a list of the best movies streaming on Amazon, as well as a list of the best TV shows streaming on Amazon. If Amazon isn’t your only go-to streaming service, we also have helpful articles on the best movies on Netflix and the best shows on Netflix, as well as plenty of guides for Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.

The best new shows to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Max (HBO), and more
Noomi Rapace in Constellation.

After last week's extremely slim pickings for new shows to stream, this week has proven to be very eventful. Apple TV+ has launched its new sci-fi series Constellation, while Disney+ premiered the first three episodes of the third season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. However, Netflix has the biggest show of the week: A live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. That series is attempting to redeem the franchise after M. Night Shyamalan's terrible 2010 adaptation, The Last Airbender.

There are still a few more new shows to come in February, including Shōgun on Hulu and Elsbeth on Paramount+. Thanks to this late influx of original series, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+ have gone a long way toward making up for not having as many original series as they did last year. But that doesn't mean that we're ready to forgive them for the recent rate hikes. If you're looking to save some money,  you may want to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers to cut some costs. In the meantime, here's our weekly roundup of the best new shows to stream.
When you're done here, check out the best new movies to stream this week, as well as the best shows on Netflix, best shows on Hulu, best shows on Amazon Prime Video, and best shows on Disney+.

The 50 best movies on Netflix right now (February 2024)
Michelle Yeoh performs kung fu in a scene from Everything Everywhere All At Once.

It's an odd week for movies on Netflix, in part because the No. 1 film on the list of the most popular movies on Netflix is Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, one of DreamWorks Animation's biggest flops of all time. Netflix subscribers don't care about that failure at all. Ruby Gillman is currently outperforming every other movie on the service as if it had been a blockbuster all along.

The other prominent new addition of the week is Everything Everywhere All At Once, the hit sci-fi/action/dramedy that cleaned up at last year's Academy Awards, including three of the four acting Oscars, Best Director9s), and Best Picture. This is not the streaming premiere of that film, but it's likely to rocket up the charts now that it's on Netflix as well.

A man holds on to the side of a truck in Breakdown.

While there are plenty of movies on Amazon Prime Video that have justifiably earned their reputation as some of the best ever made, there’s also plenty of other stuff on the streaming service that can be a little bit more difficult to identify as worth watching. If you’ve already made your way through all of the platform’s most obvious titles, though, you might be looking for something a little more under the radar on Prime Video that’s worth your time.

Breakdown, which tells the story of a man who has to save his wife after his car breaks down in the middle of the desert, is one such movie, and it’s leaving Prime Video at the end of February. Before it leaves the platform, though, you’ve still got time to check it out. Here are three reasons why you definitely should.
